Mahindra Satyam to once again hit FIFA grounds in 2014

As the IT service giant, Mahindra Satyam recently withddrew itself as a sponsor in 2014, the world soccer body FIFA immediately pulled the Indian IT company once again to be the official IT services provider for the next World Cup to be held in Brazil, reports Sumali Moitra of Times News Network.

"With the great support that we have received from Mahindra Satyam over the past years, it is our intention to keep the ongoing business relationship," FIFA marketing division group leader (marketing communication & research) and spokeswoman Sabina Heuss Pace.

The Indian IT company which is both a sponsor and IT provider for the ongoing World Cup in South Africa, has communicated its reluctance to stay on as sponsor for the 2014 event. "We have been informed on this and the relationship as official FIFA World Cup sponsor will be concluded three months after the 2010 FIFA World Cup," she said.

The Indian firm's showcasing of its 'command and control centre' at South Africa to clients was "one of the sole and exclusive activities that Mahindra Satyam is activating during the 2010 FIFA World Cup to leverage their involvement as FIFA World Cup sponsor", she said.

In November 2007, Satyam had said that it had become a sponsor as well as official IT services provider for the FIFA World Cup tournaments in 2010 and 2014.
